Contemporary Dance is an expressive dance style that uses movement to communicate an intention to an audience. Practitioners such as Martha Graham and Isadora Duncan pioneered Contemporary Dance in the early 1900s. In Australia today we have a number of Contemporary Dance companies including Sydney Dance Company, Chunky Move and Bangarra Dance Theatre. Students will engage in a warm up and technique development component before working towards generating dance works.

Term fees are to be completed using the form below. A costume levy of $85 will be charged to your Term 2 Dance fees. At the rollover of each subsequent term your daughter will be automatically re-enrolled in the programs you have selected and payment will be added to your daughter’s School fees. You may opt out from this re-enrolment by informing the Dance Coordinator in writing by Week 7 the term prior.

Please note: This activity is a popular event with limited places, which are allocated in the order they are received. You will receive a confirmation receipt of your payment once processed. Welcome letters and Term notices will be emailed out to families by Week 1 each term.

Term 1: Monday 7 February – Friday 8 April

Term 2: Monday 2 May – Friday 24 June

Term 3: Monday 25 July – Friday 16 September

Term 4: Monday 17 October – Friday 2 December

Classes with 8 students or less may be considered for cancellation. In which case parents will be contacted in a timely manner.

Dance Contract
Please note: For a student to be eligible to participate in the courses offered, terms listed in the MLC School Dance contract must be marked as agreed to.
